Welcome to our English Hub Events

We are delighted to share our upcoming English Hub CPD courses with a range of sessions addressing different aspects of improving phonics, reading fluency, early language development and reading for pleasure to help all your pupils become confident readers.

All our CPD is fully funded.  Booking is required and numbers are limited. Early booking is advised, as we expect these events to be popular. It is important that all participants register for events so joining instructions and any course materials can be sent to attendees.

We're pleased to be hosting a Teachers' Reading Group  again this year in association with The Open University and the UKLA.

 

Due to high interest for our new training course we are running two groups for our Reading Ambition for All programme for English Leaders and SENCos.

 We're exciting to be working with a host of new schools this year who have joined our Reading for Pleasure: Transforming your School's Reading Culture course 2024-25.

 

Back by popular demand, our Early Language Development programme started in October. 

 

In October we hosted Getting the South West Reading: A Reading for Pleasure Conference in collaboration with St Peter's English Hub. This was a full day's event with a jam-packed schedule of speakers inspiring schools across the South West to engage with reading.

 

We're excited to launch the third in our series of webinars 'Igniting a Love for Reading' which will be led by experienced teacher and English Lead, Jon Biddle.

 

Also in October we launched the first in our series of webinars 'Igniting a Love for Reading'  with our Building the Foundations of Reading for Pleasure in KS1 course with Dean Boddington.

 

The second in our series of webinars 'Igniting a Love for Reading'  was led by Richard Ruddick who explored how graphic novels can be used to foster a positive reading attitude, how they can support wider learning and shared his top recommendations too.

 

In December we hosted Talk for Reading Conference with Pie Corbett and Jamie Thomas which inspired a whole host of teachers to try their Talk for Reading methodology.
